Ooooo OOOO Ooooooooo! I may get my van back this weekend!!!!! I talked to the body shop and he said he even helped me save a little, so I might get a little more than I had hoped out of this. YeeeHaaaa! But I did have to make some concessions from the start. I am just going to be happy I don't have to drive my V8 4X4 truck everywhere any more! I fill the tank twice a week, the van I can go two weeks doing the same driving before I have to fill it up.

That's good news! Did they end up replacing the bumper or not?

A few days ago I made the mistake of interacting with my chickens in my office clothes, when I arrived there was a smell only a chicken owner knows..

It was on my blouse sleeve and I have no idea how it got there!!!

Isn't that the worst?! I haven't gone to work with it on my clothes, but my shoes for sure. I usually notice it as soon as I'm backing out of the driveway and it's too late to go change

I am paranoid that if i don't shower after doing anything out there than my hair is going to smell like wet chicken poop. I don't wear any clothes out in the chicken yard that I wear off my property except if I go to get feed, and since it is at my friend's house, I don't get too worked up about appearances or biosecurity since she has a pretty clean place and watches everything very closely.
I had to go to my son's concert Wednesday night in Rochester and had no time to take a shower, so I had my two kids here sniffing my hair for me. Cuz once you get that smell in your nose, everything smells like chicken poop. Pig poop is even worse!!!!

I can't tell you how many times I've tracked chicken poop into the office. This is after a 75 mile drive, a stop at the gas station ( I gas up daily), walking through the parking ramp, down stairs, across the way, into the lobby, to the elevator, up to the 7th floor, down the hall, into the office, and.....chicken stuff on my office carpet.

After mareks, I'm a ton better about not wearing clothes/shoes anywhere else, but...sometimes its late when you get home and you just want to run in, get the girls locked up, and head in the house.

Hey, can silkies fly? the little silkie was trying to get up a couple of hay bales and couldn't make it. The bantam didn't even try. Am going to have to figure out some way to make it work for these little things.

That's good news! Did they end up replacing the bumper or not?

Not sure, I don't care if they did or not, I just want my van back. He said something about it, but it wasn't clear. I will find out when I get it back. He didn't call today that it was done, so maybe there was paint to dry or something. I don't care at this point if it has a purple bumper with pink polka dots. LOL

Wellllll, yes and no. If they are very determined, they can get up on things, but mostly, they are ground dwellers. I have low roosts or no roosts in the Silkie pens. Their wings aren't build for lift, the feathers being silkied and all, they are like shredded and they can't catch much air in them.

Their wings aren't build for lift, the feathers being silkied and all, they are like shredded and they can't catch much air in them.

oh boy. If I have this one lonely silkie, ...shoot. I could see the others eyeing the roosts and watching my flock get up on the roosts. Think I'll go out and check to see where she ended up at in the coop. hope it isn't by herself!

Went down to get potatoes for dinner and they are sprouting I guess my dark cool corner isn't good enough
