Minnesota!

Thanks for the intel! I do remember that the three EE eggs you sent were each a different color. One was darker with speckles (looked just like the Welsummer eggs), one was blueish/greenish (don't quite remember...) and the other was light brown. Unfortunately I don't know who hatched out of which egg, and I don't remember which color didn't hatch. I will just keep patiently waiting.....

The light brown was the Buckeye, then you have an Ameraucana who came from the Bluest egg, then didn't you get a Wellie? She came from the dark brown, but if there was another darker brown with speckles, it would be from the Marans. All the EEs and Ameraucanas were sired by a Black Ameraucana, most of them came out black. I had a few of other colors, but those all got sold or were cockerels.

[COLOR=333333]Ok I now have a house chicken for the time being, I don't know what to do but I know I have to try one more time with her. She now has a home in my shower. Sorry to say but it's do or die. Last night after I gave her the anabiotic's I put her up on the roost with the other chickens and this morning I found her laying in the chicken run all by herself and her legs were ice cold and she didn't move and one of her eyes are completely sealed shut. I figure she got kicked out of the henhouse. Since the run is very secure I leave the pop door open all the time. I checked her over thoroughly I even got out a magnifying glass pulled back the feathers on her back, under her wings, her vent area and on the top of her head and I seen no mites lice or anything her skin looks very clean. I will continue to give her the antibiotics twice daily and hope that helps whatever she has going on. Then if she does get better the problem will be acclimating her back to the cold weather because she will be used to the warm bathroom. Hope she bounces back! Add a pair of chicken diapers and she can run around the house...

How precious!!!
We have the unexpected baby goat! Its been quite a learning exoerience and it is still touch and go with the little one. I do not recommend having a baby goat this time a year!
Hey! sorry I got it wrong. I've been telling everyone about your cute baby and was wondering how it's doing! Hope he/she makes it! I'd probably have mom and babe in the house! updates and pictures!
Walhart or Wally is getting bigger and braver. Last week, we weren't sure he was going to make it because he wasn't eating and we couldn't get him to take the bottle. We gave him a vitamin shot (BoSe) and finally on Friday he started to eat again. Mom is young and impatient with nursing him, so he doesn't get much before she moves away from him. He needs a new little sweatshirt coat, because he is growing out of this one. He is 2 weeks old today!

Ok so is it normal, after mating, for a Roo to jump off and proceed to peck the hen on the head?

is actively hiding from him - so much so she allowed me to walk right up to her and pick her up. When I did Rusty proceeded to flog me, right in the face. I've told him he's Sunday dinner this week.

I've heard of mean roosters but I've never heard of one jumping a person for attending a hen.

I'm gonna have a scar for sure. And this is AFTER it was cleaned up. He ripped me good but fortunately not very deep.

Yup, I'm just talking about the 3 EE eggs. I did get three Buckeyes and three Wellies but only one of each hatched. The three EE eggs were all different colors. There was only 1 green egg in the whole batch.
