Just got in from my woodshop. Working on gifts for my nephews. I'm making wooded tool sets. Here are the saws. Tomorrow I will work on the 'hammers'. The sets will also include a wrench, screwdriver, maybe a pliers if I can pull it off and a wood tool tote.

You have a talent! That is the kind of stuff I think all kids should get for gifts. We still have, I think, a wooden tow truck my husband had as a little kid. Our boys played with it a lot when they were little.

just for comparison purposes, here is a toy tractor I got at a local farm auction. Two brothers were on the family farm, when one passed, his kids wanted their share of the $$$, so there was an auction. The surviving brother was in his 90's, and was being "allowed" to stay at the farm, but all the furnishings and equipment were sold at auction. He was hanging out in one of the barns during the auction. Very interesting gentleman and not at all bitter about what his "family" was doing to him. I mean, they were even selling the kitchen table and chairs out from under him and dishes and beds, etc, except for his bedroom.

Anyway, this is a tractor his dad made for him in the 20's. There is a wooden spool for the tractor seat, and a nail for the stearing wheel.



again, just for comparison purposes. Klop klop, your toys you are making are heirloom quality, I just can't get over how gorgeous they are.

I have Goldie in a wire kennel in my bathroom. It is an awkward place for her to be, blocks my main utility closet. So I thought I would see if she could tolerate the cats, if so I could move her into the living area. Then she also would not be stuck alone in this silent room. But, as soon as one cat came in, Goldie flipped. THis was even though I had one end of the cage and side all covered in blankets so she had a dark, enclosed area to be in.

Darn.

Also, she is walking more. Before, just a small step, wait, small step. Now, 2-3 steps in a row.
But here is my question - she is high stepping - bringing her foot all the way up to her chest before putting it down when she steps. Is this just because she is sore?

I am not satisfied with how little she is eating. She does have normal droppings except in miniature. I can't seem to really tempt her, and although the first day she would take food from my hand, she hasn't done so since.
