Minnesota!

Shoveled us out twice so far. Had to shovel out the coop too.

I gave up on shoveling the walk. It drifts in fast as I clear it. I will scoop it in the AM. The driveway seems to be staying clear after i plowed luckily.

The snow seems to have quit and now we are getting a thin layer of ice over it all somehow. Keeps it from blowing around but it is super slick out

Somebody is pooped after playing all afternoon after DW and I came home from work early. She also rode around in the plow truck with me. Such a cuddles!

So far, the kids have a 2-hour delay. I suspect that it will be another full day off with the way it is blowing and wind shifting will cause new drifting in the other direction. No rain here, but I know it isn't all over with either from the looks of the radar. We didn't get as much as they forecasted though. I won't do anything until I have to. I don't think DS will be driving to school tomorrow even if it is open part of the day. I don't feel like getting up just to go blow out the driveway for him to drive when he can ride the bus. Call me a mean mother. ;)

The way our driveway runs, it is flat and stays pretty clear on the long run down to the road, but it drifts up here around the buildings and on the 180-degree curve, then really bad down by the driveway where we have trees planted closer to the road. It may be a 4-foot drift across there by morning. I am glad I did get out and cleared the mess we had there this last week from blowing before the thaw started, at least it was clear under this new snow so I don't have ice chunks to deal with.

My friend from Monticello went in the ditch on the way home from school. They thought the whole bus was going to tip over. But then... She is a little dramatic..

A teenaged girl, being dramatic??? Say it isn't so!!! LOL!!! I hope no one was hurt.

I FINALLY GOT A FAN WORKING!!!! I bought 4 new fans from online. 1 was the wrong voltage, so I messed up there. The other three, I cannot get working at all. So, I had one I disconnected before that I thought was one that was shot, but it is working fine. I hope it continues to do so.
I have three trays with eggs ready to go in and there are more I might wash up tomorrow morning and give them a try. I just have to find my chart to keep track of how many I set and when so I don't screw up and have chicks hatching in the incubator while the turner is still going.

And still the wind blows. It is kind of cool to hear it clinking against the windows and against the foil covered insulation we have over one opening that used to be a window (long story of an old farm house).

hey Blanch, glad you popped back in, and glad klopklop and holms were around to welcome you back! Hope things settle down at the new job so you can kibbitz here a bit more.

woke up to clear skies, stars, and finally, just about no wind. Not sure if I will get out to the road. I never touched base this fall with the guy who has plowed for me the past two years, so its is a toss up as to whether he will show up today or not. My driveway is about 1,000 feet, so it isn't something I will be shoveling.

The first couple of years I lived here, I would just shovel out a space to park by the road and hike up. Kept a kids sled to haul groceries or feed or whatever up. Now, though, I'm pretty lazy and I pay to have the drive plowed.

We have a two hour delay and the base is closed. We were released yesterday at 1300 and it took me two hours to get home! Driving that slow sure improved my gas mileage....
But I felt for those stuck in rush hour yesterday.
My silly best friend drove from Willmar to Eau Claire, took her seven hours to get home.
