Minnesota!

It's a serious order mistake. The first box was meant for another customer. All the chicks are together in one brooder.

Their screw up, not yours. Are they charging you? You can't re-ship either, chicks must be shipped within 24-hours of hatching. Postal rules. If you want to ship older birds, it is in a special filtered box and is way expensive. I think the breeder who shipped should eat the loss, but you sure gained!

They can charge me all they want to. Not getting an additional cent from me.
What am I going to do with 22 Jerseys?

They came in two distinctly different boxes. One was a regular box and the other had a high triangle shape.

Are you happy to have more, or not?

Yeah, you definitely should not have to pay, its their fault.

U shouldnt have to pay for them messing up. Which breeder did u get them from?

Hmm what to do with 22 Jerseys... I would cull hard and only keep the best. Then sell or butcher extra cockerels. And keep extra pullets for laying or sell them

wow, scandia, thats a surprise. I'm glad you were the one with extras and not the one waiting for chicks that never showed up. how disappointing!

I'm all excited because my 7 year old EE, Jezebel, has started laying again. I thought she might have been but wasn't sure. I caught her in a nest box though today, so now I know.

3 broodies today. I think I have to let Petunia keep some eggs, she was broody about 10x last summer and I kept breaking her. She looks like a turkey all puffed up and growling, and oh my, the hormones....she charges everyone and they all scatter.

One of the babies hatched today. No idea who the hen and rooster are but absolutely adorable

I'm certain the breeder will have to reship chicks to the intended owner. What upset me is that they wanted me to keep the chicks in their boxes and not mix them. They needed water and food.
When told her that they were all in the brooder together the discussion was over.
