Miracle- Hello! guinea/chicken crossbreed

Quote:
They're pure guinea.

Rascal and Little Bit are just regular guineas and act like regular guineas. I'm new to guineas and chickens, both, so everything is a fun learning experience for me. The adult birds, both guineas and chickens, I have raised from day-old birds but at different times. Now with this new and strange bird I'm watching everything closely and comparing. I'm so very glad that I was able to hatch out the regular guineas from the same batch because it makes comparing them so much easier and more fun. If I had a couple of baby chicks in with them it would even more interesting.

Hello again from Miracle.

Poor Sweetie. We had a bad thing happen in the coop yesterday. I saw it happen but I'm not going to tell the people. They don't know what happened to Sweetie but they do know that her leg is broken. They put a splint on it for her. She still does things like get on the roost and get in the nest box to lay her eggs but the people don't know how she gets up there. She only does it when they are gone but I see her. The people always come and help her down. She gets to stay in the coop in the afternoon when my buddies and I get out of the cage to play. The other grown ups get locked out because they like to peck us.

Here is a picture of me checking on Sweetie. The people fixed her this box but it isn't her nest box. She could just lay her egg in it but she likes to use her nest box up high. She pecked me when I stuck my beak too close to her.

I got to go out in the sunshine with the grown ups and eat some corn. It was a lot of fun until they decided to chase me away.
Can you find me in the picture? I'm growing up and will be as big as they are before long. Some day I hope they quit pecking me.

The people are my friends. I don't run away from them as much as my guinea buddies do. I love it when they bring me treats and I'll eat out of their hands. The guineas won't do that! They are very afraid but I'm not.

Do you think I'm a boy or a girl? I like to sit in the nest boxes like the hens do. I still only make a cheep cheep sounds. It is kind of embarrasing because I sound like a baby. What do you think? (it is still my secret)

Good bye for now,
Miracle

Its good to hear from you again Miracle . You're looking more and more like your daddy's side of the family , but can see your mother's side also . Wouldn't it be great if you continue to live up to your name and be that one-in-a-million hybrid that is fertile . I think that on those rare occasions it happens its usually a female that is fertile .
Must be some really good care coming from your flock of humans to help your friend Sweetie , she's doing quite well considering her injury .
Hope to see and hear from you again soon .
Steve
