Miracle- Hello! guinea/chicken crossbreed

Quote:
I don't think any part of the country has been spared in this heat and humidity and it would almost be a Miracle if someone were to get a garden to thrive!

BTW nice to hear from Mena and Miracle. Mena, were you ever able to publish a story?

Thanks for the update Miracle and Mena! Boss sounds like a swell guy!

I sure hope you haven't dropped the possibility of telling Miracle's story through a children's book. It would be a lovely tribute to such a special little bird, and would probably help many children

with this VAST chicken network, it would be fantastic if someone on here does/knows someone that publishes childrens books. I'm sure they would love the story if they were made aware of it. Somebody out here can help, I know they can. Please help so this very deserving story gets told and distributed.

Hello from Miracle,

Something new has come to the farm and I'm not sure it is a good thing. It is a new and strange looking cat. Have you ever heard of a Highlander? She is a scary looking one with a wild look, six toes, and funny curled ears. Mena would not let her stay if she acted mean to the birds but she doesn't. The chickens are trying to teach her how to respect their space. If she gets out of line they will jump on her and she will back away. Maybe she will be nice and just hunt mice like she is supposed to do. That is her official job. She is a mouse hunter.

Toot is growing bigger every day but still no "buck wheat". We have decided that Toot is a boy. He has 6 other members of his little guinea flock. They stay very busy all the time and work hard to keep the ticks away. That is their official job. They are tick hunters.

The hatchery chicks are starting to look like grown-up birds. Some of them have told us their names but not all of them. We watch them and listen to them closely and when they are ready they let us know who they are. They don't know what their job is yet but soon they will find out. I know because Mena told me. They are going to replace the Golden Girls and become the new egg layers for the farm.

When they get names I will introduce you to them. Did you notice that I said "we" a lot? That is because I walk beside Mena all the time now when she goes to see the birds. That is my job.

Goodbye for now,

Miracle

(Mena is going to write my book for me. That is her job.)

Miracle it's always thrills and chills to hear from you. Mena is very lucky to have you guide her, and we appreciate your translation of what the guineas and chicks are up too. My guinea and chicken language skills are pretty rusty. I know it's probably too late for this year but, OH, would your story have made a great xmas present for kids and adults alike. Next year would be good too tho.

If you ever go roaming - our weather gets pretty nice in late September and October, and I would love to have you visit and cool off here. I truly could use a guide just to navigate my own back yard, with all the heat and downours the only things thriving are the weeds. I have never seen them so lush and giant sized. We have all kinds of bugs for you too. Love to all.
