Hello from Miracle,
Hi everyone. I just felt like today would be a good day get a few things straight around here. I had to have a little talk with Mena. She is bothered because the Golden Girls are not laying very many eggs. "They are molting! Cut them some slack.", I said. " Molting is a tough job and takes a lot out of a chicken." Why do people think they are supposed to get an egg every day from every hen.
Sometimes a chicken needs a day off, or even a month off. They work really hard searching for bugs and things and don't ask for much. Just an endless supply of feed in the coop and nice clean water. Oh, and a treat every now and then. Well, a treat every day is what they really want.
The new chicken flock is still not laying eggs yet. They will start soon. I can tell because some of their combs are getting really red. I'm glad I didn't have a big red comb on the top of my head. My head wasn't bald with a helmet like a guinea and it didn't have a comb like a chicken either. I had some nice short feathers on the top with spikey feathers around the sides and back.
I really liked being different from the other birds most of the time.
Have a happy day,
Miracle
