Blog entry #1 Friday, 3/11/22

I figured I‘d started a blog about my chickens! Currently I have 35 hens, 5 Golden Orpingtons, 5 Australorps, 10 Plymouth rocks (5 were casualties to my livestock guardian dog who’s in training) and 15 Rhode Island Reds. I’m giving my rhode islands and Plymouth rocks to a friend, they’ll get to enjoy chowing down on grass at one of his properties, in exchange he’s helping me search for some bantams, he also has a broody bantam hen laying on two eggs so in around 21 days we’ll see if there fertilized and of course there will be a occasional picture of the chickens with the goats Although I have yet to snap a pic

Blog entry #2 Sunday, 3/20/22



Egg production is pumping! Almost 6 dozen in 3 days!
I’ll definitely update y’all with a picture of the nesting boxes soon !

Also, a friend of mine is incubating some bantam eggs, their hen was broody but stopped sitting on them, hopefully I’ll have some chicks soon
That same friend is also taking 25 of my hens
