i had six ducks! All mallards about 3 months old. Fully feathered out in a run. The run was pretty secure and inside my hens open topped fenced in run. I went out in the morning and was missing all 6 ducks! No feathers or sign of a struggle! Devastated by the lose I went searching to see if they just got out! I found one right by my house a quiet boy. I still can’t find the other 5 I see no signs of a preditor taking them. My question is what would take 5 almost full sized ducks in one night and leave no trace? They also had easier access to my hens then the ducks. I’m so upset over the lose and am heart broken for the single boy who’s crying for his family. Any ideas? There inside run showed signs of the fence being tampered with but nothing crazy. Looks almost like someone could’ve taken them. I’m still searching for them and signs of them but no luck yet? Any ideas of what would take all 5 in one night with no signs of a struggle and not bother my hens at all?

Two legged thief I'm thinking and dropped one as they hauled out your Ducks..
Terrible how people can be...:barnie
Thats what I’m thinking. I have a new neighbor down the road that told me randomly the first time I met him that he was feeding my chickens. Who I had noticed started gravitating towards his yard recently. I stopped free ranging my birds. His property doesn’t even boarder mine. I plan on putting cameras up to see what happens!

I’m so upset over it and worried about my lonely left over who some how made it to my back porch safely! He also shows no signs of being attacked! I checked him over really well and he doesn’t even show a missing feather!
Possibly dropped him and he ran off so they could not find him..Hopefully they got out but the possibility of taken by a person is high...

How devastating! I've had a hen stolen from me once, one of my prized silkie girls. I asked my neighbor and I think he panicked and said he "found her", even though she vanished overnight after I put her to bed in the coop! He lying for sure, but he gave her back with no trouble. The nerve of some people. I really think your neighbor took them, and the one drake you found was accidentally dropped. Is there any way you can sneak and look into his yard to see if there are any signs of your ducks?
