Missing chicken

Multiple cat losses would lead me to believe a large owl. Cats like to hunt at night and if they are out in the open, especially kittens, they would be easy prey for a large barn owl. The owl would be down and have them whisked away before they even knew there was an owl about.
ETA: I don't think fox or coyote for the cat losses as the cats would smell that they've been around, hear them, and see them. Maybe ONE cat to a coyote or fox, but not multiples...
 
Fox. My daughter seen a fox carrying off our rooster. My husband ran after it through the corn field with no shoes on! but never got a shot off. Also found the original missing hen feathers and another hens feathers it must of grabbed right before the rooster
 
So sorry! Foxes are difficult to trap, but there are threads here about succeeding with doing it. One of our neighbors was able to get a safe shot at our problem fox several years ago; we couldn't, although he returned during the day.
