Missing chickens

So i just walked to the coop to check on my other girls and my barred rock is back i checked every single inch of the coop and the coop is closed and shes back? Im really confused hows she back

oh yea phoenix has alot of coyotes but not where i live im surrounded my houses and sadly not nature.

Maybe you should put up a camera out there so that you can see what is happening with them out there?

My guess is she's flying out, going off to explore, and since she can fly out, she simply flew back in once finished. A 6' fence isn't hard for many chickens to fly over.

Yes. Chickens can fly high and that’s why we have chicken wire over the top of the run (and for predatory issues too)

My neighbors EE jumped from a standstill to the top of her 6’ chain link gate right in front of us.
We only have a 4’ chain link fence around our yard.
My birds started jumping it when they were about 4 months old.
We clipped one wing on each bird.
(This is to cause the birds to be off balance so they can’t jump high.)
Haven’t had one go over since.
They’re older now and heavier so we may not have to clip wings again but it’s a simple solution to a problem that can end in tragedy.
There’s too many dogs around my area.
