When mine started to sit she was on 2 eggs, so having a rooster I grabbed 3 others that had been laid that day and set them next to her while she was on the nest. She waited a few moments then pushed them underneath herself. Patience will pay off, she will let you know when she is ready. She hatched 2 of the 3 I put under her and one of the two she laid. so 0ut of 5 eggs we got 3 chicks
