Missing Feathers...

Some of my new to me 2 year old chickens are missing feathers on the back toward the tail feathers. It is down to the skin (which is pink) I don't see blood or scabs. Any ideas what this could be caused from?

Possibly mites or lice, possibly from overmating at their previous home, or very possibly feather plucking/pecking by previous flock mates. Mites or lice would be observable upon examination. Do you know if there was a rooster/roosters at their previous home.

Do you have a rooster?? If so, it could be from mating.

Are these chickens hens? Were they exposed to rooster mating before they came to you?

Have you look closely at the skin for signs of parasites? Look around the vent area for moving bugs.
