missing spur !!??!

    My roo, ( an easter egger - 3 years old ) ......has a spur missing !!! One is 4" long .....but the other dissapeard !!! doesnt look like trama .........maybe got snapped off somehow ?!?!? Does this happen ?!?! No bleeding area ..... looked healed over maybe a week old AT LEAST injury .............

    ANY IDEAS what happened ?? Is this normal ?!?!

    it happens...they get snagged on wire and boards...some folks cut them off or twist them off...it isn't a big deal

    I see it pretty often,when they get long like that they are very easy to get hung or hit just right and they snap right off, he will be fine it will grow back.

    I was assuming when folks twisted them off. it didnt go completly back to the leg !!! COOL !! there is NO stump or nothing !!! DH held him so we could trim his only spur ... WOW it was so hard to do with garden cutters , I couldnt do it !! I should take a pic for new chicken owners as myself ..........

    my big EE roo lost a spur this week in a fight. it bled quite a bit at first but quickly stopped without intervning. it happens [​IMG]
