Alright I think I want to cut off the exposed bone and try to cauterize the wound. If anyone knows the easiest way to knock the chicken out or chill it out? Like maybe a cold towel with a frozen wash cloth in it? Anyone think that'd calm it down or make it sleep? I don't wanna call it it's so happy still.

I think a vet should be the one to do that.

Now that ive taken those pictures and seen it better, im going to have to either take that little girl to the vet or end her wont i? what do you all call that culling?

unfortunetly the chicken has 3 options,1 Die now,2 deal with <this unqualified surgeon or 3 possibly die later. I really dont like the ide of the exposed bone, Ill update u guys in an ahour or two with it. If i had the money id go to a vet, but ima be honest if it was able to have this done to it in the house from a pet theres no way id throw 600 or more bucks at an emergency vet bill for a bird i ( and i hope im wrong) think will walk right into a predators mouth in a few weeks once outside.

Get the chlorhexidene that Coach recommended. Hibiclens is a brand found in most pharmacies and Walmart. Clean the stump well. Betadine (povidone iodine) available in feed stores and pharmacies works well too to disinfect wounds. Vet care would be best with an exposed bone, but try treating her for a few days first. She may well survive this. Cephalexin and clindamycin are antibiotics available for fish online, and work well for preventing bone infection.

Of course a vet would be best, but I've had a couple like this, and both healed fine. Both had bone sticking out that I trimmed back. Let me see if I can find some pictures.

Your all the best. Did the iodine, couldn't find non pain relieving Neosporin for after but I'll keep looking and switch to that. Ordering some antibiotics. She did well in a towel with a hole for her head and a hole for the area being worked on. Can't believe how calm she was. Explains how I wasn't woken up... When this happen.
