Missouri auctions and swaps

I'm loaded and ready to leave now. I'll have about 50 Guinea chicks, barred rocks, black australorps, SLW, mixxed breeds, rabbit's, baby bed... lol Wife wants to get rid of it. Quail egg's. All sorts of goodies. We will be down by the place serving tenderloins if anyone wants to stop by.

It was hot as heck and slower than a 7 year itch... lol There were tons of people selling but not alot of buying going on. It took me 2 full days but I finally sold everything I took except for one little bunny. It was a neat experience to say the least. I can't wait for October's swap down there now.

I agree! We were only there 4 hours. I got a sunburn on my shoulders even under our tent. I sold two pairs but still have 8 roosters I'll be taking to Keytsville this Saturday, 5 of which are my porcelain d'uccle bantams. Many of the birds I saw at Jacobs Cave didn't look as pampered as my bunch, otherwise I might have bought some laying hens.

teddiliza, What do you get out of one of those porcelain d'uccle bantams? I might be interested in 1.

Jenny, It's just a black rex cross of some kind. Nothing special. I sold most of my meat rabbits and bought some real nice tattooed rex's and mini rex's to replace them. I have the cutest pair of castor mini rex's I have ever seen now. They don't go outside, they have there own spot in the house now... lol

You know, I'm not sure what they'll bring, but my reserve will only be $1 per rooster, as I'd like to recoup some of the cost of feeding them, paying for the Mareks vaccine to be shipped to my house, and the syringes I had to buy to vaccinate them as chicks. I'm also bringing a white rock roo- I think- a buff orp roo, and a barred roo.

I went to the Waterloo, Il swap this weekend. Waterloo is about 25 minutes south of downtown St. Louis. It was interesting to say the least for a city girl. I got myself 2 frizzels.

The next one is in August.
