MissPrissy, anyone, I Have partial paralyzed roo!!!! RECOVERED!!!

No changes to his condition. Lockedhearts is a stumped as I am. She came over tonight and saw him for the first time since his incident with the RIR's. It's very puzzling.

All you can do is keep him warm, feed him well and wait.

Nature gives them the instict to cull their own. If he doesn't recover you'll have to tend a handicapped rooster and keep him in his own pen or choose to cull him. You have you decide when his quality of life is compromised. The flock will not take back in a weak member.

Ok, so I am doing the right thing. I thought that I was. I'm willing to give him a couple of weeks to see if anything changes but if I don't see improvement by then I will have no choice but to cull him. I don't like it but I see no other choice. I can't spend the rest of my time tending to a rooster who will never recover.

Thanks for the advice. I didn't know if there was something I was overlooking or not.

I sure hope he gets better, Robin. This is my dilemma with Zane. Zane just has a bum leg, though. He's cheerful and interested in life, crows, grabs the women and is just a sweetheart. Who knows how long he will live? For now, he has no infection and I'm sort of just waiting to see if he ever becomes depressed again. If he no longer has any enjoyment of his life, then we'll let him go. It is very time consuming, though, certainly. I wish I could give you more insight into your boy's condition. Sometimes, these things stay a mystery.

Thank you ,Speckledhen and MissPrissy. I appreciate you both so much

I have been feeding him game bird conditioner, boiled brown rice with some beef baby food from a jar and a little vitamins added. He seems to be responding to my fussing over him well. He chirps and chirrs to me and it's kinda funny the way he almost carrys on a conversations with me. I think he knows I'm trying to help. I do physical therepy with his legs and feet twice daily for a few minutes as well until he begins fussing and complaining, lol. I hope he pulls out of this. He has a very sweet personality and is going to be a beautiful bird.

I am very proud to say that my little roo went back outside today and is doing great! He has made a complete recovery with time and patience and lots of TLC. I am soooo relieved. Now if his feathers will just grow back in
