mite treatment for quail ?

I only have access to permethrin 10% is it ok if i dilute with water and use a syringe to add some drops on the backs of my quail to treat the mites ?

I've tagged the one who would know, so hopefully he'll be along to answer before too long. Most feed stores in the US, at least, sell bags of DE.

No I have not. DE is just about worthless, except for a filter media in an aquarium or drinking water system. IMHO!!!!

If you have a place, space, or location you can move them to, do so and spray down their pen, or entire enclosure with the permethrin and let it dry. You can then move them back to their original enclosure or pen. In the meantime, treat your birds with Sevin dust, this is better than DE. You can find Sevin dust in WalMart garden centers, if your local feed store doesn't carry it.
