Help!! I have a major mite infestation. I am not necessarily looking for a natural remedy (although it would be nice) but just need something effective! I've seen stuff about DE and i know how to clean the coop well...but what about the birds themselves? It is bad enough that i has begun to affect egg production I think.

Get some permethrin spray.

DE will not treat the coop or the birds.

A little note about mites... These are nasty little bugs that can kill your birds, so please do treat your birds and the coop ASAP. FWIW, I just found a hen on a hidden, mite infested nest. I can only hope that I found her in time.
