Mixed breed opinions?

Our RIR has quite a bit of black mixed in her feathers, so would she get black from both Bootsie and the RIR? And what can I look out for to confirm that Bootsie is the father?

Do you have pictures of your RIR? They shouldn't have black in their hackles, only in the tail.

Well, one way to confirm is to breed Bootsie, & the RIR, & see if you get the samething. Or you can make a list of traits of both parents, take that list, & compare to the cross.

I can get one!

That would have to be a project for another time, only because our hen count is close to 50-60. So we are waiting for that, and the rooster count of 11 to go down.
The boss of the house does not want any more roosters.
