I've been through all of the pages and didn't see any Buff Orpington over a Silver Laced Wyandotte. Anybody? I can't imagine the outcome but I have these birds and it could happen here eventually. Would love to see pics. Especially if it's something to be avoided.

Buff Orpington rooster over silver laced wyandotte hen will give you red sex link chickens ;-)

Here they are now

hen was a speckled Sussex and rooster of the single combs was a Bresse, the rooster of the rose comb was a silver laced Wyandotte.

I'm sorry it has taken awhile to respond to your question. I didn't see your post. Here are some photos of Ruby as a chick. She had partridge markings as a chick and no red color. She is the light on on the left in first photo.

It's alright! Thank you so much! I have a Swedish Flower X Buff Brahma mix and I was wondering if they looked anything alike.

This was a few weeks ago - he's the one giving me the side eye like his momma.
