Mixed breeds

I went to a farm recently and bought two mixes they had running around. I couldn't resist. The first one they had no idea who the parents were, but my best guess was Wyandotte and Polish.
The second had a Black Silkie for it's mom, but not sure about the dad. They are soo.. sweet.

Melvin has some funky feet! lol He's beautiful.

The feet are actually half for feathered (one parent was clean legged , I think sebright, bantam cochin cross) and they are white with black spots. In the pic it was raining. He currenlty is running with a flock of standard laying hens and is the father of one 3 day old old half brahma (large fowl) tiny, tiny chick thats with black feathered feet .

I thoroughly enjoy hatching out mix breed birds in my flock. In my own opinion, mixed breed birds can be some of the most beautifully colored and have incredible markings. My favorite mix breed bird that I have seen was a Rhode Island Red x Araucana and it was a gorgeous red and gold color with thick black facial markings, by far one of the most beautiful birds I had ever seen.
