Mixed emotions about my son joining the Navy! He leaves Dec. 15th!

Thanks Candace! I know this will be the best thing for him! Nine weeks of basic is going to be hard on Momma! But he will get to see some parts of the Us we havent been able to take him to! And he is beginning the next chapter of his life!

Bless you for raising a son that wants to make this selfless choice. It shows how well you did in teaching him how to make informed and fulfilling choices. I can only imagine how you feel as my one and only (also a son) is going to be 16 next month. I am already having heart palpitations just thinking about him driving, getting a girl friend and going to college. I can only hope that I have instilled as much integrity, guts and brains in him as you have in yours. Please keep us posted on how he AND you are doing.

I am sitting alone in the kitchen trying to write him an encouraging letter! Wow I cried gut wrenching , heart breaking sobs and now the tears just keep falling! I have three wadded up pieces of paper and three half written letters in front of me! Wonder which one I should give him?

I've been where you are right now. It will be ok but I know that it is gut wrenching. I'll be thinking of you and praying for him and you.

I'll never forget my daughter getting on the van at the recruiting station that took her to Jacksonville to ship out. I didn't cry (and she was able to hold it back too) until she was out of sight...then Katie bar the door!!

He swears in at 9 am! Getting ready to go watch! I am so proud nut still cant keep the tears held back! We went to Brodies Backyard BBQ last night! He chose there for dinner because they are moving downtown Kansas City and wont be here when he gets back! The guy was so nice...he just loves Adam!

He just made it safely to Chicago! Dang I bet its cold there! I took loads of pics and spent all day with him! It was great and I didnt break down to awful bad!
