Mixed emotions about my son joining the Navy! He leaves Dec. 15th!

Good luck to him! I know people that have loved the military, others that just did the shortest stint possible and hated it. He'll see how he likes it after awhile. My boys are basically little hippies in training, so I don't think I'll ever have to go through it. The closest thing to the Navy they ever want to get is with Greenpeace. Was married to 2 army men. Obviously didn't work out. Tell him to stay single while he's in! And, then you'll know he'll always come home for the holidays to you!

Well he enlisted for eight years and plans to be married asap! So I dont think that will work but I will get to see him often! I have faith in him and I know he will do fine!

Good luck to him!! I am retired military - Royal Air Force - served 16 years with the RAF and 2 years in the Army Reserve beforehand. I travelled lots, flew lots and saw many things I never would have gotten to see. Tell him to make the most of it, let the military pay him to get a degree, and be proud of him!

Having Just lived through another round of deployments from both my sons --- I wish your son luck and you -

You reminded me of the day my oldest son joined the Marines - In Buffalo in 2001 the recruitors offices were all in a neat row Army, Air Force, Navy, Marines. I dropped him off- I walked out the door and made it past the Navy door before I started to cry and bumped into a Navy recruitor Who said Yep that's a Mom ---

I wish they could've stayed Local but They have good jobs - Proud of Both my sons ---- and the places they have been blessed to see .

You'll be scared but no more then a Policemens Mom , A Firemens Mom and they rest of the jobs that put folks at risk - Hard to believe my oldest has ten years in and set to retire w/a 20 at the old age of 37

We ended up a Military Family my Brother has 23 in the Air force It's a living they'd say

He wanted to be a Police man and his grandpa and Uncle on his fathers side are EMT/ Fireman and Captain ...another Uncle is a nurse and my step dad is retired NAvy! Lots of military in the family! Yes I am that new military mom and this week is hard because I have no place to mail these letters!! We did recieve his Box of civilian clothes! And I pray for him daily! I so miss my son!! I cant text or call him and I know what he is going through! Please God keep him strong and well!!
