Mixing Electrified Netting Brands?

Curious if its doable, or how difficult it is, to mix different brands of electrified netting together?

I'm assuming the electrical properties of the different fencing is all about the same. The difference is more about the netting itself; horizontal strands, spacing, and type/number/placement of posts. I think.

I've not yet bought any netting or energizer equipment but found someone selling 100' of netting at a good price. She's unsure of the brand and only selling the netting. My worry is I buy the netting, then when I get the rest of the equipment I end up not being able to use it. I figure I can roll it out and check for damage, maybe ohm the strands out to ensure there are no breaks.

Looking for feedback on questions I should be asking or considerations to make.

Great question! Over the decades I have had to splice all sorts of different electric wire and tapes together for temporary repairs and patches and all have worked fine, but I have never worked with electric netting. I would think as long as you get the metal wires to touch and hold securely the current should move through just fine. Interested to see what others have to say...

The only difference is type of charger. I don't know of any small charger that "burns" weeds. Any 1 joule or less charger I've seen is a pulse and that's whats used with netting and poly tape type fencing. You can pulse a charge through tensile wire fencing too. Large charging units on a farm using tensile wire for fields are typically a sustained current in effort to burn weeds that ground it out. With these small systems you maintain the weeds yourself and ensure the fence isn't sagging on the ground.

There are no fence chargers sold that employ a continuous current. Such a charger is a Trial Lawyers wet dream because he won't even need to know the law to win millions from you and your family..

In the dim dark recesses of my mind I remember how to construct a charger that produces a continuous charge. In the 50s the total cost was likely less than a Dollar but don't do it.

I’ve got three different brands of electric net. They are mixed and matched in whatever order they come off the storage racks, no problem whatsoever mixing them.
