Mixing layer crumbles and whole grain feed?

I’ve never fed whole grain feed since my chickens would just pick out what they like and not get the full nutrients.
But I want to try to start fermenting chicken feed, and since it seems whole grains work best for fermenting. I would want to put lots of whole grains in to make it more interesting than sour mush, but not water down the feed.
Would two types of feed given in equal parts mess up the balance?
Any recommendations for which whole grain feeds you like would also be great. Thanks!

Hmm, I've never tried using both whole grain plus pelleted or crumble feed, in a ferment. I use Scratch & Peck grower for my fermented feed.

Thanks! Scratch and peck seems like a great brand. Does the fish meal in the feed make anything off in the fermentation?

Nope I don't have issues with the fish meal.
