Mixing standards and bantams

I have a mixed bantam and standard flock. There are some bantams that are pretty tiny, but I would say that most of them are about half the size of standards. My rooster doesn't know he's a bantam, so if you ask him, size doesn't matter. He likes the big girls as much as the little ones.

Bantams are small and come in different sizes. The smallest bantams are Seramas. A full grown roo may only weigh 20 oz. or there abouts. A full grown hen only 17 or 18 oz. I have 2 silkie Serama bantams, and my older, regular sized mixed hen that I had first doesn't like the little hen, but thank God she respects that little bitty rooster! He protects his hen very well. My big hen seems to be more jealous of the banty hen getting treats than anything else. There have been no problems between the big girl and small pair except at treat time, and the roo keeps the peace without ever drawing blood......so far!

That sounds a little more like what I was imagining...I got a little nervous when someone said pigeon!

I'd be getting an adult rooster in this bunch, so I don't know how this would go over with my virginal bunch of standard pullets...

I have a D' Uccle and a Silver Seabright and Black silkie bantam, that I adopted. The eggs are about half the size of large standard eggs.

Standard hens are in the 5 to 8lbs range and bantams are usually in the 1 to 2 lbs range. Seramas being the smallest chickens weighing under a pound.

If my camera were charged, I'd take a picture of a Serama Bantam egg next to my regular hen medium egg so you could see. The bantam eggs are so cute!

They taste good, but it's hard to crack one without breaking the yolk! It takes 3 scrambled to equal 1 medium egg's worth.

I was wondering if a bantam roo and standard hen were able to have babies together? Has anyone ever bred a bantam and a standard? I just got a bochin bantam roo and was trying to think what hen to put him with.
Choices are BSL, SLW, Black Astroloup, Barred Rock. He's black so I was thinking of keeping him with the black hens. What's everyone think?

Sorry didn't mean to but in on your post.
