MJ's little flock

If he has problems with magpie while riding, you could get him a "mo-hawk" to stick on his helmet. :)

Gotta add a picture!

Good idea. I'll think about it.

The laundry is in an outhouse. It gets quite warm in there so I think clothes on a ceiling mounted airer will dry quickly even though they're not in direct sunshine.

I was thinking of something like this but seven laths deep.

Why not both? Or if you have large sheets that wouldn't fit on a fold up line, as Lozzy pointed out (thank you Lozzy, I didn't think of this) maybe a retractable line like this?

We’ve got one of these in our outhouse laundry, that’s good for small things in an emergency.

If that can hold a king-size sheet (and is pretty strong) I reckon it could be a goer!

I usually put sheets in the tumbler. But i recall how lovely they smell when sun dried. There might a spot once the old corro rain water tank is removed. It leaks. In time, I'll get a string of narrow, tall ones up against the walls of the house. For now I catch water in a small aluminium tank which overflows every winter. It's far from ideal.

Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe

This recipe is from one of the kid's cookbooks that I recommended to Ribh a while ago. It's our family's favourite and pretty easy to make.

Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients

1/3 cup caster sugar 1 ¼ cup plain flour

1/3 cup brown sugar ½ teaspoon bicarbonate of soda

125g softened butter ¼ teaspoon salt

1 egg 185g chocolate chips

½ teaspoon vanilla essence

Method

Set the oven to 190 C. Beat the butter with both lots of sugar in a mixing bowl until it has a creamy texture.

Break the egg into the bowl and beat it into the mixture until smooth. Then add the vanilla essence and mix it in.

Add the flour, salt and bicarbonate of soda to the mixture a little at a time and stir everything together well.

Now add the chocolate chips and stir them in until they are evenly spread through the biscuit mixture.

Butter the baking trays and spoon small mounds of the mixture onto them (using a teaspoon),leaving quite big spaces between the mounds.

Bake the biscuits for 10 to 12 minutes until they are a golden brown colour, then move them onto a wire rack to cool.

We have a pull out line. They are stronger than they look.

Ours has coped with doonas, wet quilts and heavy dog bedding without any problems.

The gutter from the shed wall it was attached to fell on it in heavy weather but it only broke one of the strings!

My only problem with it is that I am too short to retract it!
