MJ's little flock

I’m really hoping I’ve broken Charlie’s broodiness. She’s sleeping in broody jail tonight but she seemed much less broody today, so I’m hoping tonight will do it (it’s the third night). She really didn’t want to go back in. :(

Apparently Cetrigen “The Purple Stuff” is the Oz stuff to have for red, bleedy spots; antiseptic and insect repellent, not to mention chook repellent as it makes red spots purple!

That is very clever. Nice job putting it together so quickly. I agree with @Kris5902 . I might blue kote it as well.

Thanks Loz, we don't have blue kote in Australia so I will ask my supplier for the Cetigren.
Alice's pecked at spot has scabbed over nicely but I will keep an eye on it. The "saddle" is doing it's job so far...:fl

She looks quite spiffy and comfy, and it’s a better fit than my first attempts, and with a very cute (appropriately colored) pattern to boot! She looks way more comfortable than my Barnvelder girl did in hers, and I still don’t have the size quite right for my smaller girls.

Thanks Kris, that's very encouraging. Alice is quite small, I think it would fit better with a shorter "neck" and narrower elastic under the wings.

Still a bit hectic. The team didn't get through as much as I hoped today, so we'll be catching up once I'm back from Melbourne.

Looks like I'll have to defer holidays for a week.

:(

Well, I guess that means if you catch up first you will get an actual holiday. So it's all for the best ;)

Good evening folks :frow

MJ I hope you get caught up soon.

Good evening MJ and everyone :)

Hello :frow it'll get done.

Rant ahead...

It's because I'm at a weird stage in my professional growth where the profession believes in me and puts me forth for interesting and challenging responsibilities like responding to govt rfc but my workplace is not adequately funded so the push downwards onto staff workloads is hefty. Also the bloke who does our workloads is a systems thinker, not a humans thinker. He's ambitious too. And I've heard him speak the most vile hatred of other people who've fallen foul of systems eg robodebt victims, single mothers, people claiming the dole etc (he didn't know I was in the room next door when he was talking to his crony). Typical that he wouldn't even conceive of a single father or that maybe someone needs the dole if their manufacturing employer closed down and they don't have a new job yet. He's a nasty combination. I'm pretty sure he won't be in a position of power over me much longer.

I have no respect for people like that and yet I pray that bad fortune never strikes them. They could not handle it. No matter your status and wealth we ALL need help in some way at some time. Perhaps someday his eyes will be opened but I fear I doubt it will ever happen.

That sucks when you’ve got a colleague that makes you uncomfortable and is deserving of dislike. I hope he’s not an a position of power for much longer too. :hugsRobodebt was a massive debacle and it took the courts to find it unlawful. Why would you be hateful towards its victims? What does that say about him?
