I lay down under the trampoline next to Bok who was resting there out of the heat (I had just read in bob’s thread about Patsy so went to give my old girl some one on one love) and I was talking to her then I hear this 'peep peep peep' behind me. Next thing I know Belle has jumped up on my back to check me out and ended up settled on my shoulder.
I got an inquisitive peck on the ear too, little bugger
Snow decided to lay down next to me also!
Flock was all together, including me, and it was amazing

That is so adorable. Looks like you are now part of the flock.

How has Charlie been handling it? Is she as bonny as ever or is she looking a little worse for wear.

She’s gone a little pale in the face but I’m guessing that’s because her egg cycle has shut off. Apart from “tuk tuk”ing she seems her normal self, less of a bully maybe.

Forsome reason this jogged a long buried memory of croquet. It is one of the few games where the objective of making someone else lose is higher than the purpose of winning.

You've been lucky to raise a couple of cockerels because it's given you the opportunity to observe their development. It must be fascinating to see a rooster come of age (if they're well behaved, i recall Jabber spent a lot of time attacking you).

I have been blessed with the experience. I do firmly believe that the best cockerels are raised with another rooster present to show then the ropes. Ned was very sweet and went to live with his Dad at just the right age. I reckon we have ourselves another great one with Ned.

Jabberwocky and I were not able to reach an agreement on what our relationship should be and what me relationship with the ladies would be. There was also no one to show him how to be a rooster. Only Hattie appreciated his attention and Patsy and him did not get along at all. I had no knowledge of how to work with him and the flock and he had no teacher. Bad timing all around.

Thank you both. I am very partial to her myself.

She will soon be sporting a pink stripe from the top of her head to her tail as I can see signs of feather picking along her back.

The wee ones are coming out of their shells more and more. They will get shirty once I’m back at work and they can’t free range most of the day
One more shot, we were in the spa so it’s far away but it was cute to see them all resting together under the almond tree

They are just darling.
