Yes? I don’t like today’s illustrations in chapter books. Angular and cartoon-y, not artistic.

I thought they were hand-drawn but they look simple and unrealistic. I’m more into realism rather than Impressionism.

Sadly pretty seems to be out of fashion in children's books as in all else. ​

It's a beautiful old home really, just very shabby in places with a front verandah that might tumble down if I don't get builders and mortgage brokers involved soon.

But at least the hens will have a lovely home soon there's nothing wrong with my prioritising, is there?

Nope. Seems correct to me. But I have security cameras on my chickens and not my house so......

She looked so unlike herself, with no tail, sparse back feathers and a spiky hair do! But i think maybe she could see better, she was so confident and sassy!

The back porch is enclosed and I always leave the door between the porch and the outside open for Blossom to come and go. Since I pulled down the chicken's fence to make way for the funrun I've encouraged the hens to make use of the back porch by putting food and water in there. To keep them a little safer and away from the front yard where a passing dog might see them. One hot days I open the door between the house and the porch so the cool breeze from thr aircon can reach the hens.

They make a mess but it's easily cleaned up.

Wonderful. You are so considerate of them.

I know I've said this before but don't rush. You can cause problems elsewhere by forcing your body to adapt to your current limitations. You will heal with time.

Ok, you've given me a new perspective on writing my name into books. It might be interesting to someone else long after I'm gone.

Oh absolutely you should do that. Name and date. And one word of context if relevant like place. Best done in pencil.
