MJ's little flock

@MaryJanet wuick question about the champion layer food, would you say it is a shorter cut pellet? Not quite crumble but not quite average pellet size?
Belle is seeming a bit fussy with the normal size layer pellet I had already that I’ve changed too and wondered if the champion layer is slightly smaller if she would be more interested 🤔
She’s eating but picking through and swiping quite a bit to find the littler pieces I think, maybe because she’s used to her crumbles 🤷🏻‍♀️
Yes, a shorter cut. I know what you mean about pellet size being an issue. Peggy is the smallest of the hens and she has no trouble eating champion layer. The only problem is that the pellets have less structural integrity and therefore powder builds up in the feeders, so you might need to shake the powder out when you check the food levels.

Awesome. I’ll give that one a go when I buy food for them next week 👍🏻
I know she’s probably just being picky/fussy but if it means less mess (and it’s higher protein as you pointed out) and she is eating more and eating easier it’s worth it 🙂

Well, I've got so much confidence in Dr Mark the avian vet, when he said, "Switch to champion layer," I said Ok.
