Mrs BY Bob beat me up this morning and made me breakfast in bed! Lilly and Hattie eggs with a piece of leftover sirloin and sourdough toast.

With only Peggy's egg in the fridge, I've decided to go out for breakfast

I'm glad she's laying again. Ivy stopped a day or two after Janet started, so with Peggy in the mix, I'm back up to two slow-laying hens, which is just about right. I'm wondering if Mary might even have a short season coming up.

It's 18 months (roughly) since Ivy and Peggy moved in, so it's time for me to think about 2 pullets this summer. I'll see how the fox-proofing and roost building progress. If it's slow progress, I'll find pullets, if it gets done quickly, I'll get eggs for Ivy. I may even do both?

That's ok. I've got 17 freeloaders. Only 3 of my girls are laying & one of those is a bantam. On the other hand, most have finished their moult & I have 1/2 a dozen POLs. I will be swamped with eggs shortly.
