Well that does look scrumptious, but they really need to upgrade their tea cups to compete with cafe MJ!

I'm glad she's laying again. Ivy stopped a day or two after Janet started, so with Peggy in the mix, I'm back up to two slow-laying hens, which is just about right. I'm wondering if Mary might even have a short season coming up.

I’ve got four free-loaders at the moment.

Until Edwina started laying 10 days ago, we hadn't had an egg since mid April.

She's laying once every 2 days now which I'm happy with. I still have 3 freeloaders, though they are keeping the garden bug free.

Every now and then I fantasise about opening an old fashioned tea shop Imagine the walls lined with books, cakes on trolleys, savoury pastries, tablecloths and napkins. Perhaps a shady garden area out the back where Ivy can make an appearance in the afternoons and help people clean up their crumbs. With some mod cons like excellent wifi and coffee for those who don't like tea.
