MJ's little flock

It’s good it is being acknowledged and treated rather than being told to “have a Bex and a good lie down”.
(now I’m showing my age😂)
Ah! Here is the ad I was thinking of.

Even as a child it struck me as very patronising. 😠

I certainly owe chicken tax!

Here are Edwina and Pepper enjoying some sun yesterday.

Here are two of my favourite PMJ covers:

Ok, that makes way more sense now! I remember all about the bass from a few years back, but the sad clown really threw me! Loved the final countdown! Genius interpretation really kicked the legs from under that song.

I have a few but they're a bit ummm imaginative:
  1. Is it possible Mary is feeling broody without sitting?
  2. Is it possible probiotics have her feeling aggressive?
  3. Or maybe she's just feeling older and grumpier?
  4. Or maybe Janet is feeling less assertive?
Do any of those seem likely? Maybe I've missed something?

Edit. Here's another strange thing. Since the roosters started crowing (one up the street, one down), one of the hens started making a loud sort of scream. Like "aaaaahhhhhh" but as loud as possible. I didn't know which hen until just now when it happened before my eyes. It's Mary. Is she calling to the roosters? Or is she asserting herself as the 'rooster' of her flock? Very thought provoking.
My guess is that like Lilly, she is crowing. Possibly to claim this is her land in response to their crowing. I'd love video but I personally know how hard it is to capture.

Your reasons are certainly imaginative. I think more observation is in order.

Friends, I'm going to share something with you in the hope it'll help me keep the momentum up.

I have a body that looks like my mum's and my Nana's did and it does not predispose me to strenuous exercise. The nature of my work brings stillness too.

This is a problem in terms of my health and overall well-being. I need to move more.

I've always loved music and dancing. So today I started a new new routine which I hope will stick.

I got up and danced to that James Brown song I shared a few posts back.

I'll do that for a month, then I'll add a second song for the second month, a third song for the third month and so on, until I'm dancing for an hour before my morning shower.

If you want to, feel free to check up on my progress from time to time. I will either use the hiding under the chair emoji or the dancing one 😁
I love this idea MJ. I promise to check in.

On that note, I'd like to share something with you too. I had a few consultations with a dietitian who does dietetics in conjunction with mental health. She says that "diet and exercise" has negative connotations, in that 'diet' is seen as something restrictive, instead of what goes into your mouth. 'Exercise' is viewed as running on treadmills, going to the gym etc and quite a chore. She likes to think of 'good nutrition' and 'movement'. It gets you away from 'diet' and 'exercise' and as long as you are putting good things in your body, there's no harm in eating chocolate regularly (or whatever your discretionary food of choice is). If you're moving and it's something you enjoy, you are more likely to keep it up and not see it as a chore. So I've been resolving to think in terms of 'what nutritious things have I eaten today?' rather than 'why did I succumb to chocolate today?!' and doing things like playing Wii Tennis with my son.

So if dancing is what you enjoy, you will keep doing it. Maybe we should do it with you!
The power of words is amazing. There are many times I spend minutes searching for just the right one to convey my message. I always find it time well spent.

Now if I could just get spell check to cooperate sometimes. 😆
