It's OK to try and look under. You may get pecked for you efforts though. It is not easy to see them so you will have to wrestle the hen a little.
She is also dealing with two angry mommas. I've never had co-broody's before. If one or both are as evil at this stage as my game hen can be, that is a nightmare situation that I never want to deal with.

I'll see how my anxiety goes. If it gets out of hand, I'll take a look.

Ivy is a darling but Peggy is a tyrant.
 
Do they seem OK and not distressed? Maybe that is a sign to let them get on with it.
For now, I'll stick to my decision to not intervene.

I imagine my first glance at the chick will be when the mums are ready to bring it out.
