MJ's little flock

Another hot day

It's 40.9C outside (that's 105.6F) which is hot enough for me to worry about the hens.

Usually I enclose the hens in their henhouse, ice the water, provide esky ice blocks for them to sit or stand on, and start the misting.

At lunchtime, I did all that and I also provided a gently overflowing bucket of water in a shady corner of the yard. Then I left their doir open so they could choose their preferred methos of keeping cool.

I've just popped out to check on them and this is what I found.

Janet digging in the wet, shady corner.

So I guess both methods measure up just fine :)

Cool change tomorrow!! All the way down to 22C :)
