Janet has a crop issue and Mark took a sample for cytology. He'll call later with results. It may be a simple matter of adding ACV to the water or she may need antibiotics. Here's hoping for a clean bill of health.![]()
Does she have any scratches or cuts?He made a right mess of her back!
I sure hope these wind up being simple issues.Janet has a crop issue and Mark took a sample for cytology. He'll call later with results. It may be a simple matter of adding ACV to the water or she may need antibiotics.
Ivy has a lump which might be an egg on the way. If it's not an egg, I'll take her back for further examination.
So both have a health problem but everything is being seen to.
Me too, but it's good to have them under observation and testing.I sure hope these wind up being simple issues.![]()
It is definitely worth having them checked with such an exceptional vet.Me too, but it's good to have them under observation and testing.
I'm really glad I decided to keep the hens on six monthly check-ups. I'm sure I'd have noticed these problems eventually but they might've worsened in the meantime. Whereas Mark spots things immediately.
You know, Ivy was off the nest for quite some time yesterday and she hasn't yet gone back to it today. So I'm hopeful it is indeed an egg coming through. It is definitely worth having them checked with such an exceptional vet.
Not that I can see, plus I sprayed her back with the Cetrigen, which is an antiseptic.Does she have any scratches or cuts?
Excellent news all around.I heard back from Mark who tells me Janet's crop problem is bacterial, so I'll get some linco from him tomorrow morning.
And Ivy laid an egg! So that would've been the lump he felt.
Also, as far as I can tell, Ivy has been on her feet all day (except when she laid). It's nice when they decide to stop sitting! I didn't have to do anything.
