MJ's little flock

I was sure you were going to say the desk. That is what Davis believes in my house. 🤣
No, she's very unimpressed by the desk. She only hops up on the desk if it's past her dinner time and I'm still working. That hasn't happened for a long time because I moved her dinner time to dusk instead of late afternoon, which was no mean feat!

Little Ivy had to be lifted off the nest so I could confiscate her eggs.

She sat there for maybe 15 minutes before grabbing a few snacks.

And having a really thorough scratch!

Now the eggs are gone, I'll check how long she's been sitting and think about encouraging her to spend more time on her feet on less on the nest.
Such a pity it didn't work out MJ.
:hugs

Never mind. There's always next summer.
The girls have more experience now so here's hoping for next time!:fl

I've taken a photo of the furnished study.

The trapdoor is in the far right corner and there's space for a comfy chair in the near right corner, which is out of view.

It still has to be painted. I've put that task on the wait list for the painter who works on this year's veranda rebuild project.

It looks like a cozy workspace with lots of natural light. I love the paneled doors and the door knob.
It seems unusual to have a room with two doors though. What was the room's original purpose do you know?

I'm having mixed feelings about the kneeling chair! It's definitely improving my back and posture, but it gives me fatigue between my shoulder blades. To be fair, that may have something to do with the height of my screen. The old knees are coping fine now but it was a struggle for a while. I also find I have no energy left by around 3.30pm because I'm using it to stay upright, so that's when I tumble into a comfy chair and do a bit of emailing or reading.

I'm coupling it with back bend stretches and sideways leg lifts every 25 minutes to strengthen other parts of my body, which after years and years of desk work became little more than noodles without me even realising it!

I may end up switching it out for an ergonomic swivel desk chair if I can find one upholstered in a beautiful fabric. I'm so done with ugly work furniture. It'd be good to have a swivel chair so I can spin around to face the bureau when needs be (as they seem to a few times a day).

It seemed right to record the little one's short life in the signature.
I had a good look at your desk MJ and is it....curved at the front? Amazing!😍

Also, perhaps you could get a nice wooden box or something to raise your laptop up and save your neck .
