In memory of my River, here is a video of her complaining about goodness-knows-what.She was a gorgeous hen.
I SHRA!!
She was a special lady.In memory of my River, here is a video of her complaining about goodness-knows-what.
Ps Mark said "Ooo! Pretty!" when he saw EdieWe're back from the vet and all's well but for an odd substance expelled by Lorna, which Mark has taken a sample of. It appears to have come from her vent.
And he thinks Edie might be a cockerel with a wide pelvis. Understandably sexed as a pullet. So that's a wait and see situation.
If she's a cockerel, the options are return to the fodder store and exchange for a pullet (I have no clue how humane his end would be), or keep him until he's noisy then have him humanely put to sleep. I'll probably keep him until he's noisy. He might as well live the high life while he can.
The next appointment was for Peggy and Mary on hatch day, so I've said Mary will be too busy for her appointment so let's give it to Janet instead.
At some point, the river chickens will need check ups too.
There is a swab for MG but Mark said it's cheaper to keep them in quarantine, so just carry on for another week.
Maybe. I’m not set up to have multiple roosters, however. What about hatching eggs under a hen?
I hope you are right. And bitsas is a fantastic idea!I am not sure that is true Michelle - in my search I keep randomly coming across breeders in CA. You can look in breeder directories or just search using 'near me' - there might also be small farms breeding bitsas.
