When I called Mark's surgery to check on their opening hours, the recorded message said to come here in an emergency.

Lorna has been seen by the triage nurse.

She was 856g last night and now she's 770g. Losing 86g is a lot. It's 10% of her weight.

That can't be right.

I just wish there was an avian vet available.

I think you brought her there because you think it is time to euthanize her.
Nobody can tell you if it is the right time.
If you aren’t sure you could wait for Dr.Mark, but I suspect your first instinct is correct and it is time.

We still haven't been seen but that's ok, clearly a palliative patient isn't as urgent as some of the other patients.

But it's nearly time for her next feed. I may have to ask for some supplies.

I gave her some water by dripping it onto her beak, she seemed to like that.

The vet thinks it's unlikely she has anything contagious. He thinks it's probably congenital.

Well, they've given me her remains. I'll buy a garden plant on the way home and plant it above her so her burial place is not forgotten.
