There are so often sad chicken news on BYC that it's just wonderful to hear about these two ! I hope they are not too "eager" with the girls .

I agree with this. Good news anywhere is really appreciated.

In more fun news, Phyllis crowed this morning. That's right Phyllis. It took me so long to figure out it was her I missed getting video of it.

Not at all, actually. I would never normally put two young hens in with two cockerels, but these just seem made for each other. I have not seen any chasing, or mating at all, although you can see G-man wants to; but if the hens don't agree he doesn't force it at all.
I'll have to keep an eye on them though..

Of course @LozzyR Boys would be gentlemen. They were raised right.

It seems she may have finally found a kindred soul.

I'm so glad Aurora has an other bestie! Glynda is a very sassy hen, so she's just the right person to keep Aurora from going too far with the violence.

Does Aurora delegate any pecking orders to Glynda?

She was so funny, tuk tukking her way around the old rainwater tank! These days it's hard for the hens to nest in peace with the marauders around. They like nothing more than a surprise attack on someone who's trying to get her egg out. They drive me up the wall those two.

Someone has to, I guess. Might as well be Phyllis. Here there were a few attempts at crowing yesterday too, but I didn't see who it was.

Hope I'm not butting in too much, but just wanted to share that G-man and Bela have got girl friends now!
They are my two golden Cuckoo marans, and neither really fitted in very well in the main flock.
So when one escaped into their pen, and seemed very happy there, I thought why not?!
