I try to pick words that exclude a lot of options. One thing I like about the NYT is the coaching the bot gives after each game. The bot says ‘You had 3 choices and you picked the right one’ and I am going ooops - I hadn’t even thought of the other two!
:lau
I'm pretty sure Loz would've done what I did and prioritised beach before peach. But you landed on peach first time.

Huh? What's up with that tree? Totally explains your word guess!
It is very strange. The only thing I can think is that the peach was grafted on nectarine root stock and the root stock has sent up a sucker that matured and is fruiting.
It is the weirdest thing - because it looks like peaches and nectarines on the same tree. I will try and get a picture tomorrow.
If you trace the branches with nectarines back they all come back to one main trunk.
I prefer nectarines to peaches so I am not complaining!

I've got a lime grafted onto a lemon in the front yard. It's not very old (or well cared for) and hasn't produced a lime yet. Plenty of lemons though.

Oh interesting. Same phenomenon.
This is a very old peach tree and has been a good producer of peaches in all the 20 years I have lived here (and it was old when I moved in).
I was wondering if the peach tree was becoming weaker with age and letting the nectarine burst through.
It has a lot of peaches on it too though!
