MJ's little flock

Thanks Bob. It took me some time to come to terms with it from a moral standpoint and Mark the vet really helped when he pointed out how joyful their lives would be. I daresay it'll be hard for me to face when the time comes but as I live in a forever home, I need to be on good terms with the neighbours.

Like you, if I could be assured of a good home, I would drive a couple of days too. So I may try to find homes on the Aussies thread, but I would hate to go far that only to discover a bad home at the end of the drive.
A Special Outcome, Versace and his new ladies.

Katie's appointment went well. She's gained almost a kilo since her last appointment! And she was very happy to see the vet (and eat the vet's sunflower seeds).

The vet recommended bringing Mary in for a checkup just in case. So she has an appointment on Saturday morning.
Wonderful news! :wee :wee

Poor Peggy.

She was being a terror on the roost so I took extreme measures and picked her up for a cuddle.

She was mortified.

That'll teach her.
I tried that with Aurora. Sadly she just took out her mortification on the others. I just made things worse. I just leave to l the old Meanie to it now.

I do not doubt for a minute you would do the same. I did as much research as I could before agreeing to give him over. In the end you have to accept that you lose all control over them. Ned's disappearance is proof of that.

Surprisingly, Ivy sprang to Peggy's defence by chasing Katie and Edie out of the roost.

I didn't expect her to hear Peggy's cries and take action.

I didn't expect her to blame people who aren't me.

Just goes to show how tight the bond is between Peggy and Ivy.

I crept out after dark last night and lifted Mary into the travel basket for her trip to the vet. She was so easy to pick up. I kept her in sitting position by wiggling my fingers beneath her, finding balance, then lifting. She noticed but was not interested in moving. I'd prepped the basket with straw and she snuggled down the moment she thought it was a nest. We're heading off in 10 minutes.
