MJ's little flock

Sarah's results are negative! No Marek's disease!

Brilliant.

I can break quarantine and she can go talk to the others.

And it seems very likely indeed that Agnes and Bernadette had one of the less virulent Marek's pathotypes.
This is amazing news! I so happy for you all! How wonderful! :wee:wee:ya:ya:highfive:

It's a fascinating topic. I've learnt so much lately.

Scientists are not even sure if viruses can be classified as "alive" because viruses don't meet all the criteria for "living". Most of the experts talk about viruses "breaking down" instead of "dying". The trick is to break a virus's capsule. Once that's gone, the virus isn't capable of harm any more and can be washed away.

Whereas bacteria are classified as "alive."
:goodpost:

Very good. This is all accurate.

Many years ago a GP said I had a virus and prescribed an antibiotic. I was puzzled at the time, even more so now! Maybe they were just having a bad day.
Sadly, that used to happen all the time. That's one of the reasons we are in the predicament we are with antibiotics.

It does seem that the wooly mammoth might be of some help though.
