MJ's little flock

She's been amazing. Not five minutes ago she put herself between Janet and Sandy at the dinner "table"

She sounds a lot like my Daisy (greatest hen ever). She used to make Patsy be nice to Lilly. Sometimes even grabbing Patsy's comb and holding it on the roost so Patsy could not peck Lilly. Lilly does not rule the same way sadly, nor did Patsy.

The really good Alpha hens are few and far between.

I wonder if Mal will take over one day. From your anecdotes, she seems a thinker.

Good morning MJ :frow

Good morning @Grammy60 and @rjohns39 :frowI've been doing that 'early to bed' thing rather a lot lately. I've been feeling very flat at the end of the day. I keep missing you both.
We've both been there and got the T-shirt. I find that these days, I'm full speed ahead until about 4:30 (aka 12 hours) and then I just evaporate. :gig

ETA: When I was younger 16-24 hours were doable, but just not anymore.:th

Hello, totally understand the feeling:( after a day of chasing around children and then caring for the birds-we are so done for the day and each one gets shorter until bed time.
