MJ's little flock

I'm betting that Mal will take over:yesss:

I need to weigh her again. I think she may be almost as big as Hattie now. I know she is exceedingly strong. She seems to be putting the full package together to take over at some point.

Coop clean out is on the cards

It's sping here and there's been rain and warmth, perfect for mites to multiply. So tomorrow, I'm going to remove everything that isn't nailed down, shovel out the litter, hose down the walls, spray with coopex, put everything back, and spread fresh litter. And then I'll rest well knowing for sure no mites are bothering the hens :)

Ah ok! If they're all on one coast, it shouldn't be too hard, but if you've got some in the east and some in the west it could be tricky :) I'm in a group with people in Europe, the US and Australia! Someone always has to take the night shift when we meet online.

I did a thorough clean a while back but it really hasn't warmed up here yet & the wind has been ferocious! :(

Hi @rjohns39 and @Grammy60 :frow it's Friday morning and I'm sitting on my back step with tea and toast, watching the chooks and catching up on byc. How are you both? Are the barred hollands doing ok?

Hi :frow That sounds so relaxing-enjoy yourself :)

We are both doing fine and staying busy. Thank goodness tomorrow is our Friday and we can breath a little relax time here. The Barred Hollands are doing great for the most part, the babies are not liking the cold nights though.
