Splint mail armor is a very specific phrase. I have never held splint mail armor and somehow I could immediately envision the feeling you were trying to convey. Great use of the language. Very clever turn of phrase.Alice is looking mostly like a chicken again.

She feels odd when I pick her up though, like she is wearing splint mail armor.

It's pronounced Sillin. There is a story attached. Is he pronounced ‘Sillin’ or ‘Killin’? And if he’s ‘Sillin’, was there ever a hen called Penny?![]()
It's pronounced Sillin. There is a story attached.
His mother was called Otic............is that enough of a clue?
Cillins mother, Otic was attacked by the Marans when she was dumped in what was to become Tribe 1's coop when she was young. She had a rather nasty neck wound which went septic. She went on a course of antibiotics to tackle the infection. I couldn't really call her anti, or even Bi, although anti would have suited her character. So, she got called Otic.
Cillin, being the son of Otic would not have been impressed being call Penny from Penicillin so Cillin was next best.![]()
