MJ's little flock

Tempting fate

In South Australia the people who raise show chickens auction their excess stock every now and then. Saturday morning my friend, her daughter and I are going to one of these auctions.

If there are a pair of endearing Sussex pullets on offer, I won't be accountable for my actions.

I'm suppsed to wait until next year, but maybe... Just maybe...

Well... it is only a couple of months 'til next year...

But don't listen to me. I'm an enabler :gig

I have a feeling we've been looking at it wrong. People are studying the women. I think we need to study the men, specifically the school/uni to work transition (eg What happens to the decent young men that they begin to perpetuat patriarchal norms?) and with action research, so that young male participants are shown how to make change.

I think you may be on to something there.

The big poultry sale starts in a couple of hours!

I'm very excited to see all the different chickens :wee
But we're not quite emotionally ready for two new pullet friends, I think Mary, Janet and Sandy may benefit from being a trio for a little while longer. Their friendship is quite strong just now but could be stronger.

On the other hand, if some friendly pullets blink at me, my good intentions may well fall by the wayside.

I have no idea what the day will bring :celebrate I love days like this!
